How to get around

Getting Around

There are three ways to get around the Northern Beaches on motorised transport – by bus, ferry and car.

Public Transport

The Northern Beaches is serviced by an extensive bus system which connects most suburbs to either Manly or the city.

Ferries are a great option for travelling to the City as you can sit back, relax and enjoy the sightseeing on your journey. Some of the sights you will see are Taronga Zoo, Fort Denison, The Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.

Private Transport

For airport transfers, there are a number of shuttle services on the Northern Beaches, which pick up and drop off at your front door for a straight fare. They are cheaper than a taxi but can take a little longer.

Palm Beach Ferries runs regular services on Pittwater to popular spots for day trippers, including The Basin, Mackerel Beach and Patonga, as well as Ettalong on the Central Coast.

Church Point Ferry Service runs regular services to Scotland Island.

Taxis can be ordered otherwise they are easily flagged down on any major road.
